Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic

Treatment and Services

The Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic at Desert Vista Behavioral Health Center treats a broad range of psychiatric, psychological, emotional and behavioral symptoms. Such symptoms include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, hallucinations, poor attention, difficulties associated with past traumas, relationships and grief. Providers at the clinic are resident psychiatrist physicians in their third and fourth year of training.

Services provided:

  • Resident psychiatrists can provide medication management and a variety of psychotherapeutic interventions, all under the supervision of board certified psychiatrists. Individual treatment plans are collaboratively created to address each individual patient’s needs.
  • Children/adolescent and adult care are provided.
  • Sessions with resident psychiatrists are audio and video recorded using standard, inconspicuous audiovisual equipment. These recordings are used for training purposes. Recordings are held in strict confidence and are not part of any health record.
  • If medications are indicated and agreed upon, reasonable efforts are made to prescribe affordable medication options. Prescriptions can be filled for your convenience at all MIHS pharmacy locations or other pharmacies of your choice.

Problems not treated at this facility include acute suicidal, homicidal, or violent ideations or behaviors; alcohol or illicit substance detoxification, prescription cannabis, pedophilia, civil court-ordered domestic violence or other civil court-ordered interventions.
