KEN: National Mental Health Services Knowledge Exchange Network

This site was developed for "users of mental health services and their families, the general public, policy makers, providers, and the media." It includes information on state resources, Surgeon's General Report on Mental Health, various KEN programs, and more.

MEDLINEplus

A general health site maintained by the National Library of Medicine. Includes links to health topics, an online medical encyclopedia, drug information, and more. A great site to start looking for health information!

National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI)

There are sections for families and consumers as well as information on books, the NAMI HelpLine, and more.

National Institute of Mental Health

A division of the National Institutes of Health, this site has a For the Public section which includes informational pamphlets on various illnesses. In addition, information on medications and mental disorders, clinical trials, statistics, and Spanish Language materials are available.

National Mental Health Association

This association has an Information Center on its web site that includes fact sheets, pamphlets and referral information. There are also discussion boards, news items, and an online community page.

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)

An agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, SAMHSA provides directories, referral help lines, statistics, info on various SAMHSA programs and Centers.
