Volunteer Expressions

Volunteers make a difference every day at Maricopa Medical Center and its 11 Family Health clinics. Through their extraordinary service, patients have an extra friend during their stay, and staff has extra help when they need assistance. Their friendship and compassion are a vital part of the culture at Maricopa Medical Center.

Here is some of what our extraordinary volunteers have expressed about their volunteer experience:

"Just wanted to give Kudos to your ER staff! I really enjoyed working with them." - Sandy Wallace, ER volunteer

"Overall, it has been a very positive experience for me, not only working in a medical setting and learning in that way, but also to work with children and see true caring and compassion and I thank everyone here for letting me spend time with them." - Angela Herreo, Child Life Volunteer

"As a pre-medical student, the program provided me with many educational research and shadowing experiences that confirmed my decision to go to medical school." - Collette Lessard, SURF Volunteer

"I really appreciate you allowing my son to participate in the volunteer program for the Hospital. From what he has expressed to me, the opportunity of working in a health care setting was very valuable to him and served as a stimulus to help him reconfirm his desire to do something in the healthcare industry. Thank you again and much success to you and your program." - From a volunteer's father

"I got accepted at U of A medical school. Thanks for being a part in making this happen for me. I really appreciate all you've done and the opportunity to volunteer at MIHS." - Courtney Clark , Pharmacy Volunteer

"Volunteering is so satisfactory and a joy for me. I can only hope my small time spent spills over into giving that extra hand to allow the nurses and staff to do their job which they do tremendously." - Beverley Cain, Volunteer NICU
