Inpatient Services - Maricopa Integrated Health System's Desert Vista Behavioral Health Center provides a safe place for people in need of behavioral health care and psychiatric services. At Desert Vista, both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services are provided in a comfortable, friendly environment.
Located in Mesa, with a licensed capacity of 125 beds, Desert Vista Behavioral Health Center specializes in treating adults with major mental illness in a comfortable inpatient setting. Our Oasis Unit provides acute, crisis-oriented care for individuals willingly seeking treatment, while other Desert Vista inpatient units specialize in caring for patients undergoing court-ordered evaluation and treatment.
Our psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, social workers and nursing staff take a multi-disciplinary team approach to treatment and collaborate closely with referring physicians, outpatient treatment teams from behavioral health agencies, primary care physicians and other health care professionals.
The Center's professional staff consists of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners and psychologists and includes 15 physician members, six of whom are board certified in adult psychiatry, one in geriatric psychiatry, two in forensic psychiatry and three in child psychiatry. All physician members of the medical staff must be board-eligible in order to obtain privileges in the Department of Psychiatry at Maricopa Integrated Health System.
Outpatient Services - Outpatient psychiatric services are available for adults, children and adolescents including: psychiatric evaluation, individual psychotherapy, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, brief, supportive therapies, family therapy and prescription of medication if necessary.
Treatment is provided at affordable rates for those who do not have insurance or public benefits (i.e., Medicare, AHCCCS). Treatment is provided by psychiatric residents under the supervision of Board Certified attending psychiatrists.
