Maricopa Special Health Care District Announces Board Opening
Invites citizens from District Five to apply for board member position

In a public meeting held on May 11, the board of directors for Maricopa Special Health Care District established a formal process for filling board vacancies.
The Board will immediately seek applicants to fill a current vacancy in District Five. The District encompasses central and south Phoenix plus many valley towns and cities, mainly in the West Valley but including Guadalupe.
Interested citizens are encouraged to consider applying for this public office. Board membership is a commitment from the date appointed until January 1, 2009.
Applicants must demonstrate residency within District Five to be eligible for consideration. Applications are available on the Maricopa Integrated Health System website here or by calling Human Resources at 602.344.5627.
The closing date for applications is Friday, May 27, 2005 at noon. Formal interviews will begin June 2, 2005.
The District Five board position was vacated this month following legal action removing former board member James Chavez from office.
Maricopa Integrated Health System is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. The cornerstone of the system is Maricopa Medical Center (MMC), a major teaching hospital with a history dating back over 100 years.
