Betsey Bayless Honored by Valley Leadership

January 24, 2006 - Betsey Bayless, MIHS CEO, has just been named Valley Leadership's 2005 Woman of the Year! This is the most prestigious award for Community Leadership in Arizona.

Valley Leadership is an outstanding community leadership program that was created to "enhance the abilities of individuals to serve and strengthen our communities." You can find Valley Leadership members in every sector--business, government, education and nonprofit. In fact, there are more than 1,600 Valley Leadership alumni-- and MIHS now has one leading our organization!

Each year, Valley Leadership solicits nominations from the public in its search for qualified candidates, seeking one man and one woman who have demonstrated significant visionary leadership and community service in the Valley. As a general rule, the service to the community must be outside the scope of the honoree's day-to-day employment. Past honorees include Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, Governor Rose Mofford and Senator Barry Goldwater, just to name a few.

The 57th Annual Man and Woman of the Year award luncheon will be held on April 19th at the Arizona Biltmore. Betsey will be formally named Woman of the Year at that event.

Please join us in congratulating Betsey Bayless on being chosen for this extraordinary honor!
