Senior Adult Independent Living (SAIL) Program

Senior Adult Independent Living (SAIL) is the umbrella program through which the Area Agency on Aging provides case managed services to older and disabled adults and their families and caregivers. With funding provided mainly by federal and state resources, the Area Agency is able to help individuals receive the services they need.

In the past, people with diabetes would lose their independence because they couldn't see well enough to fill their own syringes properly. Today, there are alternatives. With assistance from the Area Agency on Aging and its contracted service providers, seniors in need can receive the assistance they require and remain living in the comfort of their home.

The SAIL program is a coordinated approach to the delivery of home and community based services to the elderly and physically disabled adults. The Area Agency contracts with professional provider agencies to deliver needed services throughout Maricopa County.

SAIL services include:
  • Case management
  • Adult day health care
  • Home delivered meals
  • Home health aid
  • Home nursing
  • Personal care
  • Homemaking and chores
Individuals interested in the SAIL program should contact the Area Agency on Aging's 24-hour Senior HELP LINE at (602) 264-HELP (4357), toll free at (888) 264-2258, or TTY/TDD at (602) 241-6110.
