Trauma Center: Level I Adult/Level II Pediatrics

In 2015, MIHS's Trauma Centers handled nearly 2,000 cases.

Maricopa Integrated Health System (MIHS) is the only hospital in Arizona verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) to provide both Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma care. Adult and pediatric patients brought to MIHS after a serious injury have immediate and around-the-clock access to our highly trained emergency medical staff.

MIHS’s Trauma Centers have a rich history that is well-known throughout the medical and first responder community.

“In the police department, we would talk about writing on our bulletproof vests, ‘If found, take me to MIHS.’ Everybody knew, no matter what your injury was, MIHS provided the best care you could receive,” – Jason Schechterle, a former Phoenix police officer and burn survivor

In 2015, MIHS’s Trauma Centers handled 1,987 cases.  Our adult emergency department treated 49,057 cases and our pediatric emergency department treated another 67,154 emergency cases, an 18 percent increase over the previous year.
